Grading the overall effectiveness of email marketing.

Updated over a year ago

About

The Shoppers Score grades the top-of-funnel effectiveness of your email marketing. The score is supplemented by an estimate of the revenue upside a brand can achieve by improving campaigns to match store averages, along with a bubble chart listing top-performing campaigns.

Actionable:

  • Campaigns with biggest upside: Link to a group of campaigns with the highest revenue upside, revealing where strategy improvement is needed the most.

  • Product Insights: Link to the uplift model of products in the group of campaigns with the highest revenue upside, identifying the top-performing products with the greatest potential to improve the score.

Why

In ecommerce email marketing, there is a need for a more direct measurement of email effectiveness than email click-through rates or the overall campaign revenue.

Our data indicates that the average number of products viewed during a buying session directly correlates with the high relevance of emails to the shopper, resulting in higher revenue outcomes.

How

The Shoppers Score is calculated based on the Item View Rate per session and the average Revenue per Item View for email shoppers, compared to the same metrics for all other channels.

What

The Shoppers Score score includes the following high-value components:

Revenue Upside: An estimate of the potential upside a brand can achieve by improving the score to be on par with the averages of all other channels.

Campaigns with biggest upside: Link to the group of campaigns with the highest revenue upside in the Insights section of the app, enabling deeper analysis of email campaigns.

Product Insights: Link to the uplift model of the products in the group of campaigns with the revenue upside in the Insights section of the app, enabling deeper analysis of products that participated in those campaigns.

Chart: A quadrant bubble chart showing abbreviated list of top performing campaigns based on Item View Rate and Revenue per Item View, where bubble size is proportional to the number of shoppers from each campaign.
